How did Vallalar Disappear?
On January 30, 1874, Vallalar told his followers that he was going to lock himself inside a room and instructed them not to open it. He said that even if they did, they would not find him.
After many days without any sign of Vallalar coming out of the locked room, the British authorities forced the door open. However, when they did, they found nothing except a divine fragrance. Vallalar was mysteriously absent. Since then, the room has been closed and never reopened.
It is believed that Vallalar locked himself inside the room, transformed his physical body into a light body, and became one with the Ultimate God, Arutperunjothi, the Vast-Grace-Light. This event was even documented in the South Arcot District Gazette by the British authorities.
It is evident that Vallalar became one with God. He had already mentioned in several of his songs how he had transformed into the Grace-Light and his light body activation experiences even before his disappearance.
