Vallalar Temple – SiddhiValagam
The sacred abode graced by the presence of the Supreme Divine! The place where Ramalinga became one with the Supreme God, ArutPerunJothi.
In 1870, Ramalinga settled in a small village called Mettukuppam. Upon his arrival, the people of the village dedicated an Ashram to him, which he named Siddhivalagam. It is approximately 8 km away from Vadalur.
In many of Vallalar’s songs, he mentions how God appeared before him at Siddhivalagam. It is the place where Ramalinga activated his light body and became one with the Divine. He composed the Arutperumjothi Agaval poem in this very place.
On October 20th, 1873, Ramalinga hoisted the Sanmarga flag, bearing yellow and white colors at this place, and announced ‘The Great Sermon.’
Ramalinga merged with God in the sacred room of Siddhivalagam on January 30th, 1874. The closed doors of the room are still seen and worshipped by devotees.
Ramalinga has promised that those who visit Siddhivalagam frequently will surely receive the grace of God a million times over, and he mentions that this is the command of God.
